Double Haul Anglers fishes the waters of Rhode Island’s rugged coast from Block Island to the Newport reefs, Buzzards Bay and the Elizabeth Islands. We fish rugged boulder fields and reefs just offshore where the striped bass reside—some of the most technical, wild, and undeveloped areas of the New England Coast.

TRIP DETAILS

Captain Ryan relies on his knowledge, planning and skill to ensure you each guest is treated to the most memorable fishing trip possible. Your satisfaction is his top priority.

Flies, Lures, Rods & Gear – Custom-tied flies and lures, as well as premium rods and gear, are included in the cost of the trip, but guests are always welcome to bring their own gear. We provide top of the line fishing tackle, including Shimano, Van Staal, Sage, Orvis, Rio Fly Lines and Hatch Reels.

Maximum Group Size – Captain Ryan’s 23 ft. Contender comfortably accommodates 3 anglers. Additional boats can be arranged for larger groups.

Personal Gear (What to Bring)

  • Hat
  • Polarized sunglasses
  • Sunscreen
  • Quick-drying shirts and shorts
  • Non-cotton insulating layers and/or rain gear (weather dependent)

Fishing Licenses – Rhode Island fishing licenses can be purchased online at https://www.ri.gov/DEM/fishinglicense, and Massachusetts fishing licenses can be purchased online at https://www.ma.wildlifelicense.com/IS/Customer/InternetCustomerSearch. We try to avoid purchasing licenses the day of the trip. Please contact DHA with questions about obtaining a fishing license for your trip.

Food & Drinks –  Water and soda are provided during half day trips. A full lunch with cold cut sandwiches will be provided during full day trips (vegetarian option available upon request).

Safety – Anytime you engage in an outdoor activity, there is some risk involved. You will be asked to sign a release of liability for prior to the trip.

Rain Out Policy – Rain alone typically does not cancel a trip. All efforts will be made to conduct the best trip possible in inclement weather conditions, unless Captain Ryan determines the weather to be unsafe. In the case of a cancellation, the trip will be rescheduled as soon as possible after the weather subsides.
